  • Grand Marquis spark plug change?

Greetings all, this past June I purchased a MINT '09 Mercury that had about 46,xxx on the dash. Since then, it's been on several road trips and performed flawlessly, putting on about 5000 miles prior to my storing it in the garage for the winter. Here's my question/concern; I plan on having it fully serviced in the spring, so would it be necessary to chng out the plugs due to the age as opposed to the low mileage? No lights on, doesn't sputter, and it's a turn key and go. I just don't want the plugs to "freeze" trying to get them out when it's due according to the schedule, Thnx.

  • Sequoia cabin air filter?

Does an '05 Toyota Sequoia have a cabin air filter? The dealer says that my air filter and cabin filter are dirty and wants 90 bucks to replace both. I looked on line at a few parts stores, but couldn't find a cabin filter for it. Ill go to another Toyota dealer's parts dept to clarify, thnx

  • Chevy 'Burban or Toyota Sequoia...?

Hello out there, just need an opinion(s): I used to own a meticulously kept '03 'Burban Z71 as pretty much a daily driver. I got rid of it due to the wife wanting a minivan; a Sienna is what she groveled over. Ok, the 'Burb is alrdy a goner, but she "decides" to keep her Jeep for a lil longer. I'm going big again and I was looking at a Sequoia, particularly an '05(120,xxx) that was dealer maintained literally since birth, according to the carfax. Now here's my dilemma, are them Toyota trucks as tough as advertised, in terms of reliability, durability? Or, should I go back to a Chevy, which I may downgrade to a Tahoe. Which do you guys think gives better mpg's as well, thnx.

Please, no smart alec answers, I'm just looking for experience with brands outside of domestic, thnx :-)

  • Jeep or Blazer?

Hello, I'm in a bit of a pickle; here's the deal, I just brought a pretty decent 98 Blazer to use for light duty things and it's also my daily driver. My wife has a 99 Cherokee that she just now decides to want to get rid of for something a lil bigger, for the sake of having more room for the kids. I need opinions on whether to keep my Blazer and sell the Cherokee, or vice versa, but one has to go. The Blazer is in real good condition other than a few surface rust spots with 127,xxx 4wd. The Cherokee is a no rust southern truck in good condition with 80,xxx 2wd, inherited from her father's passing. I'm thinking more on siding with the Jeep, but the only hindrance is the 2wd being up here in western ny.

  • Light paint scratches?

Hello, i have a '93 DeVille that's clean with the exception of the paint having light scratches from clearing snow. The goober used a house broom as opposed to the brush made for the job. Can i just give it a good waxing/buff or will it have to be painted. Other than the scratches, the paint is in excellent shape!

  • Towncar high mileage reliability?

Hello out there, I'm thinking of purchasing a '92 Towncar that's cleaner than clean to include service records. The guy says he'll let it go for $1500, but the issue is with the mileage at 190,xxx. My question is how much "longer" can I drive this beauty before things really start breaking(major components)? I know those 4.6's can go the distance, but with sight unseen, would you trust it? I'm coming reeeal close to getting it, but i'm gonna get him down to about $1300

  • No power accessories means better mpg's?

Hello, does not having power wndws/locks in a vehicle cause it to become "lighter" in weight? Im looking at having an '84 LeSabre RWD as my daily driver and wondering if i'll get slightly better mpg's. It's clean as h*ll, but has crank wndws and manual locks, which i totally dont mind at all. Im all about simplicity at this point in my life.

  • Oldsmobile 307 cap and rotor tune up?

Hello, is it difficult to change out the distributor cap/rotor on an 307 Olds? I plan on doing a full blown tune up to include all fluid changes, but don't want to leave out the cap and rotor when i do plugs and wires. • '83 Olds Regency?

Hello out there my fellow Oldsmobile'rs, just curious to know the average mpg's on an '83 Regency and is it equipped with the 3-speed tranny. If so, can I put a overdrive tranny to try and squeeze out better mileage on the highway? If i purchase it, i do plan on a major tune up with a complete flush of all fluids/filters.

  • Buick Roadmaster or Chevy Caprice?

Hello, i really need a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.. opinions on my decision of purchase. I've narrowed it down to 2 vehicles: 95 Buick Roadmaster with an LT1 126, xxx and clean as hell and 94 Caprice with 4.3 V-8 and 150, xxx and clean as hell. Which would you guys get according to reliability, durability, mpg's, etc. They both were from old couples who just want to "upgrade" to newer vehicles and not one of any of their kids would be "caught dead" driving them. The Buick goes for 1600 and the Caprice 1495; man i sure do miss that big rear wheel drive luxury feel...

  • Toyota Avalon high idle?

Hello, i have a '95 Avalon that idles high, especially first thing in the morning. Now will a hole in my flex pipe be the cause of this? Its not pin size and not quite golf ball size, but big enough to let you know its there. Although i already plan on getting this fixed, im just wondering if there is anything else that may be the root of the issue. Other than that, she's smooth as silk, thnx
