No power accessories means better mpg's?
Hello, does not having power wndws/locks in a vehicle cause it to become "lighter" in weight? Im looking at having an '84 LeSabre RWD as my daily driver and wondering if i'll get slightly better mpg's. It's clean as h*ll, but has crank wndws and manual locks, which i totally dont mind at all. Im all about simplicity at this point in my life.

Yes, less weight will get you better gas mileage, but what you are talking about is negligible.
An '84 LeSabre with a V8 isn't going to get much better than 16-18mpg combined.

Think of it this way do you get better mpg when you dont have 2 people riding with you? If you do save you wont even notice the difference for the effort really. Better off worrying who has the better gas prices my friend.

There have been people who shut off their air conditioner and roll the windows down
to get better gas mileage but the opposite is true.
With the windows down wind blowing in will end up lowering the mileage.
Vehicles are built to get the best mileage when they are fully equipped.

GEEZE, if MPG and "simplicity" are so all fired important, you should be looking at a small car with a 4 banger engine, like a Corolla.

For a more meaningful improvement, never fill up the tank more than halfway. That's 75 lb of liquid you won't be hauling around. Then again, you'll have to fill up twice as often.
