Chevy 'Burban or Toyota Sequoia...?
Hello out there, just need an opinion(s): I used to own a meticulously kept '03 'Burban Z71 as pretty much a daily driver. I got rid of it due to the wife wanting a minivan; a Sienna is what she groveled over. Ok, the 'Burb is alrdy a goner, but she "decides" to keep her Jeep for a lil longer. I'm going big again and I was looking at a Sequoia, particularly an '05(120,xxx) that was dealer maintained literally since birth, according to the carfax. Now here's my dilemma, are them Toyota trucks as tough as advertised, in terms of reliability, durability? Or, should I go back to a Chevy, which I may downgrade to a Tahoe. Which do you guys think gives better mpg's as well, thnx.
Please, no smart alec answers, I'm just looking for experience with brands outside of domestic, thnx :-)

I know a few people with Toyota trucks that really like them and have had good luck with them, but I really don't like the look of the Sequoia.
I'm a Chevy guy and my family has had a lot of Chevys and they've all been very good vehicles. The Tahoes and Burbans in the years you are looking at definitely aren't my favorite body style and they had that same body style for a long time so an 06 will look about the same as a 2000, which wouldn't be something I'd want.
If you could get an 07 or newer Tahoe that would be the rout I'd go.

I'm going to say the Sequoia is probably more reliable, but the insanely high Toyota resale values makes money a factor. Suburbans are dirt cheap, reasonably reliable, easy to fix, and parts are everywhere. The 5.3 V8 out of the Suburban has become a dirt cheap way to make power in other applications. If you care about gas mileage, don't get a truck. Fuel economy for sucks for both vehicles.

I am not a Toyota fan so I would pick the Chevy. Chevy's get better mileage than the Toyota and to me have better interiors also.

Personally, I would buy a Sequoia in a heartbeat. A good friend of mine used to have one, and he loved it. His had the 4.6 liter V8, which had plenty of power, and the truck had a smooth ride. If you plan on doing any towing, you may want to look into getting one with the 5.7 liter engine, though.
