Why Hasn't there Been A 28 Months Later, Yet?

I mean the last one was released in 2007, shouldn't they get it done if there's a third to make, by now?

Also who would you think would do the franchise justice?

    they haven't done a 28 Months Later yet. I've heard rumors of it, but nothing beyond that.
