    President Harry S. Truman had a sign on his desk saying, "The Buck Stops Here," meaning he couldn't pass the buck. According to sources, he was not the originator of the saying. See these links for more.

    Leftcoast is correct, President Truman said 'The Buck Stops Here' meaning the decisions are his and his along and any blame belongs to him and him along.
