Am I Goth, or am I not?

I've been told that I'm not Goth but I think I am. Do you Elder Goths think it's true?

I love the music, clothes, art and literature. I am Christian, but I know a whole bunch of Christian Goths, since I've gone to Cornerstone a few years, and AudioFeed this year, and most there are Christian, so I really don't think that's anything. I have been told that I can't be Christian and Goth, but I think I can. I don't dress really Goth since where I live Christians judge waaaaaaay to much, so I have been told that I'm not Goth because I don't wear the clothes, and I listen to other music, and I read things other then horror and dark stuff some times. Lots of crap, right? I'm still a Baby Bat, right?

    You're still very much Goth.

You don't have to dress the part 24/7. I don't because sometimes it's not practical to wear all black and lots of makeup.

You can be Goth and be any or no religion at all.

Whatever Goths have told you that you cant be for this reason or that are very narrow minded and believe that you must adhere to their form of Goth. Which isn't right. Goth is very much a state of mind and who you are, so dn't worry about what they hav etold you. Just be your Gothy self

  • Being Goth has nothing to do with your religion. Goth and Christian is perfectly fine. If it's one thing you need to know is that there will always be people who judge your style. You have to ignore them and wear it anyway for your sake. Enjoy your life! Being Goth has nothing and I repeat nothing to do with clothing style, though many Goths do prefer alternative or dark looking clothes. Wear what you want. It's all about the music here. You can listen to any band and like anything you want. The only focus in the culture is music. :D
