Will low calorie meals cause my body to go into survival mode?

I was wondering if I had a perfectly healthy meal that wasn't particularly high in calories (Like fruits and a bit of raw veggies, for example), would that cause my body to go into starvation mode? It would be a smaller meal than what I usually eat calorie wise but probably healthier nutrition wise. :P

In other words, I'm looking to find out if starvation mode will kick into effect even though I'm clearly still eating and that food happens to be giving my body some much needed nutrients. Is starvation mode all about the calories? Will my body go into starvation mode by doing this?

I'm trying to lose 10 pounds in the next 30-45 days so this info will help a lot. I'm trying to eat smaller potions more often, but it's really hard sometimes to get a lot of calories into the day. Example: my first little "okay, I'm awake, get moving Mr. body" meal was a quarter of a cantaloupe. Taste and nutritious, but pretty low in calories.

Anyway, any help would be great. Thanx.

That is not enough calories. By consuming less than 90% of what you need, your body goes into starvation mode and will retain as much fat as possible, and actually begin muscle degradation. You should be consuming at least 1600 calories a day if you are burning 1800. Consuming close, but slightly less than, your caloric burn is the only healthy way to reduce weight. What yo uare doing now is very unsafe, and could be considered anorexia.

It depends on how often you eat when dieting it is recommended that you eat 5-6 small portioned low calorie meals to keep your body away from that mode this meaning your regular breakfast lunch and dinner but snacks in between such as granola
