its kind of redundant.
the speed of the thing is described for Read and Write access separately
they assume you ought know its a Sata interface, where the speed of the sata
is of less interest than the seed of the memory read/write access.
here is the spec sheet for 840 PRO series(in other words slightly faster )
it is a Sata III interface because the pdf is named that way

SATA 1, 2 & 3 are unofficial (incorrect) references to the SATA1.5, SATA 3.0 and SATA6.0 interface standards.
The Samsung 840series drives are all "SATA III" or more correctly "SATA 6.0"
