What rodents would this cage be good for?

http://www.amazon.com/Levels-Critter-Habitat-Hamst...

If you could say how many you'd put in, that would be nice too.

Also, if you think two+ would be better, please say.

General guide for how many animals would be in it:

Syrian hamster- One.

Dwarf hamster- Two at most, probably one.

Mice- At least two, probably three or more.

Gerbils- Two at the most.

If I'd need to replace accessories such as the wheels, or remove the tubes, please say.

Thanks!

I would say 1-2 small robo/dwarf hamsters or 1-2 mice. Better to go lower than stuff them in because overcrowding makes more stink AND increases the risk of fighting.

I would not put gerbils in this because A) it does not provide enough depth for digging and B) gerbils can chew through plastic very easily. I would not put a Syrian hamster in this, either - way too small.

Keep in mind that the fancier the cage, the more work it is to clean. You'll have to disassemble everything to deep clean it. That means pulling off tubes to soak them and so on. And the more edges you have (like the ribs in the tubes) the more an animal can sink it's teeth in to for chewing. The size of the doors might be a problem also - you have to be able to reach every part of the cage.

2 cages sound good, the hamsters can go in one cage and the mouse abd gerbils it a good thing to to keep those breeds spate from hamster to gerbils (more active and mice) they will go tighter when the hamsters would not but the size sounds good :)
