What kind of engineer is this?

I want to develop new system to help the integration of Augmented Reality into every day usage. What kind of engineer does this stuff. I need to know so I can better focus my studies.

Update:

when I say everyday usage I mean more along the lines of finding a more practical use and designs for devices like the google glass. like adding similar usages into cars, households, schools and so on.
