Convert a non-protected DVD into a file that can be used in Final Cut Express?
I need to edit a video for a friend. Need to get the files converted from a DVD into a format that Final Cut Express likes. Picture/sound quality is important.
Oh - sorry. I'm using a mac.

You can search on Google and will get a lot of results.I think the free one is OK for converting a non-protected DVD.

I use .VOBmerge to join the vob files, then I use AVI to MPEG to convert them. (it says avi to mpeg but it does a lot more)
both are free.
