What makes a woman NOT conceive?
I'm not really asking this for myself, as I have two kids already and didn't have any problems conceiving. But I'm just curious to know ... if you have a healthy couple in their 20s, both with no fertility issues, and they time sex with ovulation, why is there still only a 25% chance of getting pregnant each month?

Because out of 400,000,000 sperm released during ejaculation only a handful of those even have a chance to reach the egg, and many of those few will die long before it has a chance to actually penetrate the egg. Timing is not everything, a lot of things can affect how much sperm can survive to the egg including even what kind of underwear a man uses. Humans aren't meant to conceive each time they have sex otherwise we would constantly be having children...
