WHY would Yahoo trade a good horse for a jackass?

WHY would Yahoo trash it's own site like this? Surely somebody pointed out that it's like trading a horse for a jackass and pretending you have made an improvement.

Any idea what drugs they are on, and how one can get back to the real site?

Update:

SteveO... Yes, they are there to make money. From advertising, driven by traffic. Drive down the traffic, and advertising revenue goes down along with it. Being a large corporation does not make you immune to bad judgement, and a "fresh look" does not always mean you have made an improvement. I often look at the way some people dress and wonder if they own a full-length mirror, or ever use it to take a look at what they are presenting to others. Same thought applies here.

Companies often to things like this, like microsoft replacing good systems with crap because they need to have something new and greater to keep the revenue machine rolling. Quality control often fails in the face of pressure to renew and improve.

Granted, the new look and functional features suck eggs. Rotten eggs at that, and perhaps yahoo will get the message that it's a sorry mistake.

I'd say the only drug involved is Caffeine and I imagine being a large Corporation they are in the business to make money, the same as any other company.

Making money is a good reason not a good goal!
