Goldfish attacked by another?!?
Mango is my first goldfish, I love her to bits. I got her a friend and they have been best buds in a 60 gal tank. But last he attacked her leaving her once long vail fantail now totally torn. She didn't attack him once, but now she just stays on one side of the tank well he swims around freely. It really upsetting, she's to sweet and she still comes to me and everything but now he won't even let her eat so I have to hand feed her. Should I get him another home? Should I sell him? I wanted to add one more goldfish seeing as mine aren't very big but this kinda scared me out of it. Help please.

Yea you have a pair
The male is harassing the female. He will "ram" into her and bug her a lot (he wants to fertilize her eggs and he will chase the female).
I would re-move him for some time and then put him back in. Use a hospital tank like a 20g.
If things don't get better then can you upgrade (75gallons) and get another female fancy tail goldfish. He will then have more females. The aggression, harassing, will be less as it is distributed in two. Try to add plants.
I would not put more than two fancy goldfish in a 55g, but if you get a 75g you can add more females.
By the way do you know where I can buy a "panda" fancy goldfish? I am just asking as you know about goldfish.
If all else fails and you don't want to up-grade then I would just give him up for adoption on Craigslist. A bigger tank will help though and more females. I would not get anymore males.
Source(s): :) I also have two fancy tail goldfish, but I got two females so they are really tranquil and no aggression is present.
