How should I study for the MCAT?

For how long should I study for the MCAT? Is it feasible to study for the MCAT during the semester with a normal course load (16-18 credits) and take it at the end of the semester? Would it be more advisable to study full time during a whole summer? How should I do it? Any tips?

I have no idea how to start studying.
