Direct TV weather outages?

Does Direct TV still go out during bad weather in NJ. If so, do subscribers get a credit?

Any company that supplies Satelite TV can and will have outages due to a storm etc interfering with the signals from Satelites and the Dishes. If the service goes down for any real time like for 12-24 hrs and you have contacted them they may issue you a credit but really unless it's down quite awhile and their aware of different customers with issues they probably won't give any discount at all.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way the most reliable signals are usually from cable TV suppliers and even they go down once and awhile but it's far less often then Satelite signals.I know this bec I've had both types of services and know many ppl that prefer cable just bec during thunder storms most don't have any real issues that often.

The satellite signal goes out when something is blocking the dish's view of the sky or when it's out of alignment. If the dish is not properly mounted it will move during strong winds out of alignment. If snow packs up on the dish you will lose signal because the snow is blocking the dish's view of the sky. Unlike what some people say rain has nothing to do with it

    No.

My brother has had DirecTV for many years, and no matter how hard it rains or snows, his signal is not affected. Actually, I take that back. One year the snow built up on the dish, and that affected the signal. But other than that, weather does not affect satellite signals.
