Can someone explain the song "Three Wooden Crosses" to me?
I've tried looking it up and I found a few times when this question had already been asked. The problem is that every person who answered had a different answer. The moral itself was the same. Okay, so there are three crosses but there were four people? And one of those four was a hooker? There's a farmer, a preacher, a hooker, and a teacher. The preacher, the farmer, and the teacher died, I know that much. But what happened to the hooker? And how did the preacher give the Bible to the hooker if he had already died? Or perhaps the preacher was the hooker's son, in which how did he survive but the hooker didn't?

The preacher, farmer, and teacher all died in the accident, and the hooker survived. Right before the preacher died, he gave his bible to the hooker, hoping she would find god, and she did. She later on told this story to her son, and passed the bible on to him. He eventually became a preacher, and told his congregation that story and used the bible to show how god works in mysterious ways.
