A question for Mexican Football fans?
Let us say - as is a possible scenario given the current state of World Cup qualifications - that it is necessary for the U.S. to defeat Panama in the last game of World Cup qualification for Mexico to attend the World Cup in Brazil. Would you then find yourself cheering for the U.S or would that be just too ironic?
Good luck against Panama and Costa Rica next month.

Well I live in the U.S, so I probably would. The only thing holding me back from cheering for them would be the immature U.S fans, saying how they're the kings of concacaf and how Mexico sucks.

I don't harbor any ill-will towards the U.S. for beating Mexico. Of course the U.S. was out to win, they had qualification on the line. They did what they had to do, that's futbol. I would root for the U.S. regardless of whether Mexico's qualification is on the line or if they were to be eliminated already. Both the U.S. and Mexico have to qualify to every world cup representing CONCACAF since they have the largest fan bases of the region and these two teams are highly likely to make it out of the group stages giving the CONCACAF credibility. The other central american nations are not good enough to make it out of group stages in a World Cup, thus decreasing the credibility of the CONCACAF.
Source(s): My two teams in the world cup if Mexico gets eliminated would be the U.S. because I live here and Russia because I am Half-Russian. The other half is Mexican, hence why I follow Mexico.
