I hate this fact - I bumped my TV - had to get a new on, my laptop broke down after 18 months, cellphones are good for a year at best
it does not pertain to you though - you are human - you still have the normal growth and lifespan - in fact people are lasting longer than ever

It is. While I have some shirts that are 15 years old and while my microwave oven may well be as old as I am (and it still works), truth is....nothing made after 1980 or so is meant to last. Everything's built with an expiration date built in, and the clock often starts ticking on the product while it's being shipped to the store and put on the shelf.
And what this means for you and I? In simple terms, don't believe the hype. Don't fall for the trap and become materialist. In the grand scheme of things, almost nobody on the planet can afford that lifestyle anyway, in terms of _sustaining it_.
Focus on people. Improving yourself, enjoying others, and caring for your social networks in real life, face-to-face. Don't just give when you take--give even when you're not taking. Be a good friend, a good listener, and just plain show up, be there for people.
And live your life as you see fit to. Get out there and do the thing. It counts because so many people _don't do it_ or don't know how to do it well.

If it says made in China or anywhere else in Asia or south America then it's best not to buy it. If you spend money on a good quality item you'll save money in the long run as it will last a long time. I agree with Timmy, if it says product of the EU, it's definitely worth buying. The EU and USA are working on the largest free trade economic union in history so the USA can expect to see more European products and the EU can expect to see more American products and at cheaper prices both sides of the atlantic. Good news.

Yes now days people design things with specific life spans, wether its a phone or a car, they all are made to break at one point. It was a mistake people made back in the 1920s, things from then were very reliable and durable, they never broke. And manufactures started to lose money because a consumer would buy 1 product that would last a forever.

THINGS are meant to be thrown away when used up!!!
You are NOT a THING!!! You are a LIVING, breathing, human being who is too STRONG to be permanently broken!!! Even MORE...you are still YOUNG enough so as to NOT be considered used up!!!

products are made cheap & disposable, people aren't! especially you
it is sad, Europeans make everything sturdy & to last for decades-clothes, appliances, homes, household items, and if it breaks you fix it, In America, everything is cheap & disposable no one hangs on to anything
