you use the word souvenir like it is a thing you like to remember
most of my scars are from things I prefer to forget but keep dragging and hold me down - it is why I am in therapy
but no - you pretty much never lose them -

I think that "scars are memories I can NEVER lose"!!! Souvenirs tend to be things you look forward to keeping; where memories are thoughts of things you don't so easily forget!!! Of course, there are different types of scars too!!!
