How rubbish are Real Madrid Castilla?

Sitting down at the very bottom of the Segunda Division with 0 points from 5 games, while Barca B beat them today 2 - 0 and sit 1 point away from first place.

It's a shame, the Mini Clasicos are very entertaining, but at this rate Castilla will be relegated they've been so poor.

To be far they only lost the first four games by 1 goal, usually 1-0 which shows they cannot score. They have lost a lot of players.

They finished above Barca B last season in their first season up so that shows how good they were.

Anyway since when does league position for B team count for anything? You do realise they can't get promoted right? The only good thing about being in the Segunda is it's the most competitive league for the B team and Castilla players are getting that experience, the coach doesn't coach them to win the Segunda, it's about testing out players and their development.

I guess you take pre-season and friendlies serious too.

I think it has to be put down to the departure of key playing personnel, I know Juanfran went to Betis, and a few players went back to their parent clubs.

I know Jese, Cheryshev and Casemiro have also been promoted to the senior squad so I don't think they play anymore Castilla games now (could be wrong about this).

I know Morata didn't play that much last season because he was involved with the first team a fair bit but I'm pretty sure he scored a fair few goals in the limited time he did play. Again I don't know if I'm right about him not being involved at all with Castilla this season (so far).

I don't think the club particularly care (Barca B results aside) as long as they have a platform in which to give players experience, Madrid tend to loan a lot of players out also, that or they sell players and then buy them back at a later date, which gives them experience outside of the club.

  • Morata and Jese were promoted. It left a gap. Barcelona B didn't promote or sell. Castilla with all it's new player has to wait and develop.

For most of the games, with the exception of Alcorcon, Castilla has been the better side. The goals are the only thing that falter. It's actually sad that they deserve to be way up higher on the table but haven't made it.

  • Barca didn't promote any player from their Barca B team, so they must be pretty stable while Madrid has. Generally on paper Real Madrid Castilla has a better squad than that of Barca B, you're clearly a glory hunter who tries by all means to humiliate Madrid even if there's no need.
