I'm going to New York on business and will have a day free for sights. What is a 'must-see'?
There's so many places to visit! I'll only be able to fit in 2-3 depending on the journey.

You're finally visiting New York City. But there's a catch: you have only one day. (Hey, you've always heard that things move fast here—why not you?)
You won't get to everything—that would take decades. But with the right strategy, a one-day check out can be a fantastic release to NYC. For the best day journey, it's sensible to keep your experience targeted in New York. While each of these boroughs has its own character and a lot to provide, New York is established and largely packed—so you can see the most there in only one day. The communities in this schedule provide several actions grouped carefully together—because I want you to get the most out of every moment. Prepared, set…go!
1)Morning:-
.Rockefeller Center-Start at Rockefeller Center, a familiar NYC location even for many who have never been to the City—it constantly appears on TV shows
.After your morning-show cameo, take the elevator to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck.
.Statue of Liberty
.Central Park
2)Afternoon:-
.Museum Mile
.Subway Ride and Lower Manhattan
3)Evening:-
.Harlem-The last (but certainly not least) product on your one-day NYC plan is an night uptown in Harlem—one of the Town's most vivid communities and a world capital of African-American lifestyle and record.
Harlem is also home to numerous restaurants serving delectable soul food, helping you to recharge after your fast-paced NYC primer.

Statue of Liberty takes too much time which you don't have. Pick from the following attractions and you will get a good flavor of NYC----
Times Square, Central Park, 5th Ave between 50th St and 59th St, Rockefeller Center (go to the Top of the Rock observation deck), Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Broadway show.
Any more things and you will need more days.

If I had to pick only 3 I would of course pick Statue of Liberty & Ground Zero for sure . Radio City, Times Square.
I am sure if you ask at the hotel you're staying at or some of the people at the meetings you will be attending they will have great ideas.
One thing I can tell you is the weather can change here ( New England) quite rapidly. This time of year we can go from 95 degrees one day to 63 degrees the next so be pack for hot and chilly weather!
