Will Yahoo wise up and delete this mutant version?

For me and I'm sure a majority of users, the new YA format is a something of a mutant from hell.

In trying to find a way to comment directly to Yahoo, I find a page that's touting the new format's "convenience". That's a lot like inverting the toilet so it hangs from the ceiling and calling it an improvement because it saves floor space. Such ill-logic is not unprecedented at Yahoo, but this one sets a new low.

There was a statement on that announcement page asking for user comments on the new format, as that was "important" to Yahoo. However, the comments box had a note saying "Comments are closed..."

In other words, they didn't like the feedback so they shut down the feedback mechanism instead of listening. Fits right in with way Yahoo cares about what we think.

What will it take to convince them to dump this piece of crap?

Update:

>> Charlie- It's not about resisting change. It's about downgrading; imposing a new learning curve on users to deliver a less functional and efficient format- change for the sake of change rather than legitimate improvement. I'm all for improvement.

Do you love the way Microsoft "improves" their OS by replacing a reliable system with garbage? They never learn either.

There's always people like you that resist change. You'll eventually get used to it. Just look at how Facebook has changed since 2006, even with all the complaints they got from people.

Yahoo has rarely been visionary, good at seeing how to make the best advances. More of a stumble in this case. They also tend to ignore feedback, as many companies do. I don't think they are trying to screw up, more likely it's the old trial and error approach necessary when the talent department is out of ideas. That method eventually works, IF you can recognize your errors and change them. Therein lies the problem.

I don't know. I hope so. I haven't seen this much anger on the Suggestion Board since that annoying "share on facebook" popup from several months ago, and they eventually relented on that.

You can still put in suggestions on the suggestion board: http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answers&fid=361...

You can also (at least for now) get back to the old format by clicking the "international" option on the left side and clicking Canada. It looks like the new format is only for the US and the UK at the moment.

If you use IE 9 (works for me), the old YA comes back.

I'm here to answer questions and hopefully be helpful... thats it... so I really don't care what they do as long as they keep the Q&A
