Helen of Troy, her face launched a thousand ships?

Our Lili said she would marry King Obama so that she would be First Lady and launch invasion ships against England and let herself be crowned Queen of the peasants.

No doubt many more than the one she has launched already, though of course that's different - 1000 ships were launched to get Helen of Troy back, or so the story goes. That's one big navy so it sounds a bit implausible.

The Guinness Book of Records, before it became a comic book, used to point out that it is rather difficult to have records about beauty as you can't measure it on a scale, with a footnote to the effect that it has been suggested that if the face of Helen of Troy was enough to launch 1000 ships, then the unit of beauty enough to launch one ship should be a millihelen. One millihelen for the Duchess of Cambridge so far, then.

If Helen of Troy did exist....I doubt

anybody would launch a thousand

ships for her. It's just a nice image.

She's given birth to a future king. That has to beat launching any number of ships.

So far she's launched only one ship, but I'm sure she'll set many others to sail before she's through.

Assuming Helen existed, I suspect that if we saw her today, we'd be disappointed.

The Duchess is the most beautiful woman in the world and could launch the American and British Navy!
