"Faith-Healing Parents Charged With Murder After 2nd Child Dies"?

You're on the jury, what do you say?

Article: http://ktla.com/2013/08/08/murder-charges-filed-ag...

Update:

@Illuminator: Perhaps they don't represent your brand of Christianity, isn't it all interpretation? Isn't that why there are thousands of sects?

I would vote guilty. The parents did not fulfill their responsibilities toward their children.

Faith healing today is a false teaching.

Jesus and the Apostles were the only people that had the power to heal people. This power was lost after that.

God has not given any other man since then the power to heal other people. Anyone who claims such is wrong - all those so called faith healing preachers are deceiving their congregations, just like the psychics are deceiving their followers.

God tells us to help our selves when we are sick - faith and prayer are good tools to use to help your mind be at ease, but we also need to seek professional help.

God gave man the ability to learn about the human body and how to help people - God gave doctors the abilities to do what they do - they are God's tools to help us either be healed or get better if we cannot totally be healed.

Prayer and faith can help our mindsets and help us relax and it has been proven in scientific studies that those that pray and have faith do seem to have a quicker recovery time than those that do not pray.

However, prayer and faith alone cannot heal anyone.

I was a little surprised to see that was in PA. There's a church in Oregon that is notorious for such things with multiple child deaths in some families and still almost never any jail time. Oregon is an incredibly liberal state and I guess they don't want to hurt their religious feelings or anything, but damn - don't hurt the kids, either.

So they were on probation already for involuntary manslaughter and a condition of that probation was that they seek medical help for any other child of their that fell ill and they did NOT, obviously the probation should be (will be, actually) revoked and this other poor child should be the straw that gets them murder. They directly caused the death of the child by refusing to get it medical treatment while on probation for the exact same thing. Also - they should NEVER get their other children back as they've already said they'll do it again.

If your spiritual life is "lacking" and you know this as you already had a child die because of it, yet you still refuse to get one of your surviving children medical treatment and rely on that lacking spirituality of yours, how could that be anything other than an intentional killing?

I believe that we are self created and that we choose our parents and the circumstances of our life for specific purposes. Some don't need a whole life to learn what they want to learn. Others want to come to point out a barbarity. These sacrifice themselves so that we can reach for a higher standard.

If they were under a court order, they should have known better. If they were truly christian, they would have behaved differently. This church should be treated like Americans treat the Westboro Baptist Church.

That is a tragic effect of do-it-yourself "Christianity".

The Church has never had any problem with people trusting doctors, as well as God, for healing. Those who put God to the test depart from the faith.

The parents are of a fundamentalist cult which does not represent Christianity. The minister should be charged as an accessory to murder.

What I say is that the pastor needs to be charged as an accessory before the fact.

I am not on the Jury, I have not heard the evidence so I am not in a position to say anything..

I want to know why all the other children were removed but they let them take this one home.

These people were already on probation from the death of another of their children.. they should never been allowed to take this baby home.

If I'm on the jury, I'd say I'd need to listen to the evidence first.
