Question about Australian sports?

Why Australian national teams always wear yellow and green instead of blue??

I'm not Australian and I've this curiosity since I bought the 2010 FIFA World Cup album

    Green and gold are our national colours, it's different from our flag. I suppose it's a way to differentiate as our flag is extremely similar to the New Zealand and UK flag.
