Will I lose weight if I eat less than 500 calories a day?

THIS IS FOR HEALTH ISSUES! I need to lose weight fast to help me with my health & possibly save my life... My doctor says I need to lose 30lbs in 2 months, or either get expensive liposuction (which I cant afford)... So I figured if I exercised for a hour a day and then ate only 500 calories a day, will I lose weight? And how much so if I did this? please help! Don't want to die by fat!

You won't be able to excersise an hour a day on less than 500 calories. You'll be too weak. I've never heard of a doctor telling you to loose 30 lbs in a month or get lypo. Because once you loose the weight you'll have to keep eating only 500 calories for the rest of your life, and eventually you'll starve to death. If your able to only eat 500 calories a day an loose 30 lbs and you go back to your old eating habits, you'll gain twice the weight you lost. Eat 2,000 calories a day at the least (healthy foods) and excersize. There are weight loss videos you can buy at Walmart that help you loose 20-30lbs in a month.

no trust me. you dont want to even go on a 500 cal diet, not only will you hurt yourself but you literally didnt even lose weight because what your doing to your body is putting it on starvation mode. You think its a good idea but think about it. Why else would nutritionist say you should eat at least 1200 a day,it is because to avoids starvation mode. You might lose like 8 pounds but your figure looks the same and you'd look like a zombie and what you just lost is not fat or muscle, its water. After you lost the water weight you'd hit a plateau and wont lose anymore weight.

The proper way to lose weight is to go exercise, you should go out to walk around and get a little meter that records your steps, a healthy person should walk at least 10,000 steps a day. When you get home eat a light healthy meal and keep your calories in balance with a food journal to keep track. You'll see results in 2-3 weeks if you do this everyday. I lost 10lb in 1 month from this but i was 131 to 121if i compare myself to you, you'd probably lose 20lb or more from it.

Nope, this is so dangerous for your health. Our bodies need fuel to run efficiently and to KEEP US ALIVE.

Weight loss is something that confuses a lot of people and there is no "one size fits all" diet plan for everyone. My advice is to get professional help from a nutritionist, what you are thinking of doing is extreme and no professional person would ever advise ANYONE to do this..if your doctor is so concerned about your current weight, they should be referring you a professional to give you some education about losing weight in a safe manner.

Go see a professional and for the love of Mike, DO NOT attempt this stupidly extreme and dangerous diet...

You will never lose weight like this, a person must maintain a certain amount of calories, or you will just go through a lot of side affects like depression.

Yes you will lose weight and you will lose it fast, however you will put your health in serious jeopardy if you do. You will lose muscle and slow your metabolic rate which will cause you to gain the weight back. There is no quick fix, learn how to eat healthy and exercise with a long term view.

At the end of two months, on less than 500 calories a day, you will be thirty pounds lighter and dead.

Go to youtube.com and type in Dr. Neal Barnard. He has a lot of videos you can watch. I recommend his series of 4 short videos.

No this wont help you because you will crash go alittle higher eat 900-1200 calores a day try to stay in that range first then lower it , just like with setting goals don't set yourself up to fail just take it easy and you need to exersize at least and hour a day do cardio !
