In the new Payless commercial, who is singing the a remake "Reach out in the Darnkness"?
Payless has a brand new commercial in which a girl singer is singing a remake version of " Reach out in the Darkness by Friends and Lover. it is a remake of their song and the commercial is looping the lyric "I think it is so groovy now that we are finally getting to gather"

Most remakes are done with unknown, nameless, (but good) studio artists. It's cheaper.

The remake is by Jocelyn Alice & Right the Stars and it's called "So Groovy (Reach Out in the Darkness)"

I think it's from Len People version from about 2003. It's on YT, but the rest of the song sounds nothing like the original 1960's version. Skip to the 1:00 mark for the part used in the commercial.
