How to enjoy vacation alone?

Make a plan in advance of what you would like to see. I travel alone every now and then and spend a little time researching the places I'm going and what interesting sights and sites are there. Pop by your friendly local library or a good book shop, find a comfy chair and read through a Los Angeles (or Louisiana, depending on which LA you're visiting) guidebook, make notes about places that catch your interest, then look them up on the internet to find out opening times, admissions and, by visiting www.tripadvisor.com, what other travelers have said about them. The great thing about traveling on your own is you can set (and break!) your own itinerary and do whatever catches your fancy without worrying that you'll inconvenience a traveling companion. Have a great time!

Find the things that sound most interesting to you. Check the local events for festivals, exhibitions or other events. I travel by myself frequently. Sometimes I visit national parks or go to Europe for a city break or to participate in local festivals. Other times, I visit the mountains, the beach and/or historic sites. I'd never let not having a travel companion stop me from going somewhere interesting. When you travel on your own, you get to see & do the things that most interest you. You can also change plans on the fly if you run across an unexpected local festival, exhibition or concert unexpectedly. Some of the best experiences I've had were unplanned - like the Salmon Days festival in Issiquah, dragon boat festivals in Denmark & the Netherlands, and a Johnny Hallyday concert in France.

Being alone does not matter much when you know the right places to enjoy. LA has so much to offer to its tourists. You can give a visit to The Getty Center, Museum of Art LA county, Griffith park, LA Philharmonic, Nethercutt Museum and many more places. Manage your time well as it flies when you are in a place like LA.

That is fairly easy

1. Have a purpose...don't just look around...focus on a task, like getting photos of famous people, eating at a list of famous places etc

2. It is only 3 days, keep in contact with friends with your phone

3. Use sites like meetup.com to get to know locals. THere are groups for hiking, eating, singles etc.
