Are there other ways to become a teacher?

I'm thinking of being an English teacher. The bad thing is that I can't go to college because I flunked my first year. I knew this one woman who was a substitute teacher and I don't think she went to college. Rather she knew someone else who was already a qualified teacher and that person taught her how to become a teacher and the rules about it. Besides college, are there other ways to become a teacher? Like maybe being a substitute teacher for a while, being taught by a qualified personnel, and then passing a test? Kind of like college but without the expensive costs.

Now there are so many facilities available other than college. You can be a graduate without going to a college. There are distance education courses available for most of the subjects, you can take any one of them and you can be a teacher. For the exam you can go to a college. Otherwise there are online courses and it is available in part time and in full time. You can take online exam also.
