    Where are you gardening, Robert?

I tried to check your profile, but this new format...

    In your previous question...

You were told to plant them in the vegetable garden.

    Good advise.

Growing poppies indoors is a bad idea... planting them in starter trays is a bad idea.

They're a cool season annual, and generally do well in my area with an autumn sowing, and up north, they should be planted as soon as soil can be worked. Both methods satisfy cold stratification requirements.

One more thing... don't cover the seeds...

Growing opium poppies in the basement is, appropriately, a pipe dream. Since you don't WANT to be told no, I wont.
