    Look at this:

Several decades after his death, it was alleged that Russell had links with Freemasonry.[102] Some have claimed that various symbols Russell employed in his published literature are Masonic in nature, and that such associations implied he engaged in occult activity. In later editions of the Studies in the Scriptures series a winged solar disk was stamped on the front cover, a symbol that is also associated with Freemasonry.[citation needed] However, Russell's use of the winged solar-disk originated from his understanding of Malachi 4:2, which denotes a sun with wings, as a symbol that Christ's millennial Kingdom had begun to emerge.[103] Some critics also claim that the pyramid near Russell's gravesite is Masonic,[62][104][105][106] because of its shape and its use of the Cross and Crown symbol, although this remains disputed.[107][108] Despite these claims, the Grand Lodge officially stated that Russell was not a Freemason,[109][110] and the symbols used are not exclusive to Masonry but pre-date the fraternity.[citation needed] The Encyclopedia of Occultism and Parapsychology notes that Russell's supporters, along with other Christian churches have "shown a marked aversion to Spiritualism and other occult phenomena. Very early in the group’s history Russell attacked Spiritualism (which he called Spiritism)".[111]

In June 1913, during his transcontinental speaking tour, Russell gave a discourse in a Masonic hall in San Francisco, where he stated: "Although I have never been a Mason ... Something I do seems to be the same as Masons do, I don't know what it is; but they often give me all kinds of grips and I give them back, then I tell them I don't know anything about it except just a few grips that have come to me naturally."[112] Throughout his ministry he stated that he believed Christian identity is incompatible with Freemasonry,[113] and that Freemasonry, Knights of Pythias, Theosophy, and other such groups are "grievous evils" and "unclean".[114][115] A Freemasonry website states: "Russell was not a Freemason. Neither the symbols found in the Watchtower nor the cross and crown symbol are exclusively Masonic."[116]

Source(s): Wikipedia --- many people are trying to find something wrong on Russel. I think it is clearly prooving the devil's trying to blame it all. The proof that this is true organization. jw.org

    Greetings

"Russell is NOT buried under a pyramid. His Tombstone was a small rounded top tombstone with the words Laodacean Messenger."

The pyramid was erected after his death by a Bible Student named J.A. Bohnet. The monument was built in the middle of the WTS plot in the cemetery. It was to be a marker of sorts for the Bible House family (those who worked at the headquarters in Pa). The pyramid contains a cross, crown and wreath symbol, scripture quotes, an open book which has names of Bible Students who died and were buried in the cemetery

Russell and the early Bible Students simply thought that God had directed the building of the Great pyramid by Hebrews as a secondary way to confirm the Bible's chronology.

This was not a belief that the Bible Students made up, but was commonly taught in many mainstream Churches which they had just come out of. It took them time to discern what was true and what was myth. In the 1800s some religious scholars felt that the Great Pyramid was built by the Hebrews under God's direction. They believed that biblical texts such as Isa 19:19-20 foretold that the Pyramid contained clues to the interpretation of Biblical prophecies that would be understood in the end times.

But Witnesses corrected their wrong understandings while other religions continue to believe obvious myths associated with the cross and holidays. And there are still theologians and accepted members of mainstream churches who still teach Pyramidology, numerology, and mix "New Age" metaphysics with no repercussions from their respective organizations.

JW's have never hidden the fact that they had incorrect beliefs due to ignorance, but we regularly study our history. But, the Bible shows that God allows his servants to gradually understand (Pro. 4:18; Jn 16:12) just as the prophets and Apostles had to gradually learn and change their understandings (Dan. 12:8, 9; 1 Pet. 1:10-12; Acts 1:6, 7; 1 Cor. 13:9-12).

We don't pay much attention to this issue or to any other misunderstanding by early Witnesses from 50 to a hundred years ago because it just doesn't matter, nor does it disprove what we believe now.

Those who criticize Witnesses would like to keep us ignorant of the fact that at about the same time Witnesses were correcting their beliefs regarding pyramids, hell, and the soul, their own churches were denying that women had souls, preaching against anesthesia during childbirth and childhood inoculations. Other religions were teaching that black people were cursed, that slavery was “Christian,” and that racial intermarriage was condemned by the Bible.

Witnesses regularly study our history, but, do other religions willingly tell you about the stupid things their predecessors believed?

Most religions have now admitted such past beliefs were false, so is it fair of me to go back fifty to a hundred years to their religion's roots and point out everything that was wrong, especially if it has commendably corrected such beliefs? No, although a effective debate tactic, it would be unreasonable and a logical fallacy.

So, it is hypocritical and illogical to bring up past beliefs which have been changed in order to cast doubt on current teachings of any religion. What someone taught years ago has no bearing on the accuracy of what is taught now.

Rejecting current beliefs based on past misunderstanding is just plain unintelligent.

Concern with past beliefs which were incorrect is a waste of time and distracts from the real issue. That is, a FAILURE to correct false doctrine or actions when presented with solid evidence would be proof that a religion or an individual is not God's organization or a Christian.

What people should be worried about is where their religions willfully ignore what the scriptures teach and continue to teach false unscriptural doctrines which even their own scholars admit are not Scriptural! People should be concerned about continuing to associate with religions which by their participation in warfare and their ignoring immorality of their members completely deny any claim to being truly Christian.

The very fact that critics of Witnesses constantly resort to such ridiculous arguments only proves that they realize they have no real evidence against our current beliefs.

    Yours,

    BAR-ANERGES

SOme people say we call our Kingdom " Halls " like the MAson Halls and we had crosses and hearts on all are old books and we had pictures of pyramid numbers and lots and lots of other stuff but it is all lies planted by satan so we dont have to research it any way.

We dont deny Pastor Russell is not our founder! We say that becasue all the stuff he said was wrong because hes an IMPERFECT MAN. Like when he sold magic beans and magic wheat from god (which was NOT Jehovah god ovbiously)

he just liked magic things like egyption things, pyramid numbers, spirit mediums like his young wife, and prolly making forcinating magic with his mistresses (evil apostates) . THATS why we did a VD about sparlock becuase we dont like magic any more because it makes us watch Charmed and Buffy and Twilight seqwills. (eg only the FIRST one was good) until we EVENTUALLY are lead astrayinto being satanists (like forcinating apostates but NOT like Pastor Russell).

Hey asking a JW a question is pointless. They are not allowed to ask or answer any questions. What their church elders say is law and if you defy that law well "you can go jump off a watch tower"
