My kitchen window is a bird a killer, how do I stop it?
My kitchen window has taken four birds' lives this year and has injured and stunned about ten others. In our back yard neighbour's yard is a fence lined with trees that have purple leaves that the birds tend to like, plus we have a tree about five feet to the window. This causes quite a problem. I have many bird boxes prepared just in case it turns into an emergency.
What I want is how or what can I do to prevent my window from harming any more birds? The number of injuries tend to rise with each year. This window is also the only window in the room so I would prefer not to block it with anything that will prevent light coming through but if I have to, I will. Any thoughts?

There are decals you can buy that reflect ultraviolet sunlight, which is what the birds would see. They're (mostly) transparent, and once on the glass the birds will be able to see it and won't fly into it.

Put a bird feeder outside the window, then instead of the birds flying into the window they will go to the feeder.

you need some semi-transparent decals. Just a few here and there. You could also have it tinted so it is dark from the outside and light from the inside.
Or don't wash it so much because it is too clean.

decals decals decals....bright enough colors so they see them...or hang a mobile outside the window so they can see it and divert when flying..so sad to see one break its neck....
