@Carols,,,,, The problem with your analysis is you are comparing apples and oranges. A&M was a dominant passing team, and their stats show it, Oregon is a predominant running team, and their stats show it. Oregon's Huff is 5'11 and Addison is 5'10 while A&M's Evans is 6'5, Bama didn't have a corner who could matched up to Evans height or vertical (ex basketball player).
So you think Oregon can score just as much on Bama as they did Virginia and Tennessee, two horrible teams that won't have a 500 season? Oregon's starters were still in late in the fourth when it was 52-7.
How can you say this Oregon team is better than 2010, the first three games have been almost exactly the same for both years (72-0, 48-13 TN, 69-0) they actually looked better in 2010 looking at the first three games. TN 2010, second game for Oregon got 373 Tyards, 151 passing and 182 running. 2013 TN is a worse team than 2010 and got 316 Tyards with 138 passing and 178 running. Pret

VT wasn't in the Sugar Bowl last year as UF played Louisville. It was a few years ago when VT was in the Sugar Bowl and I believe they lost. I think I'd pick Alabama to win the game. Oregon has looked great, but they really haven't played anyone to test them. As great of an offense that the Ducks have we've seen it in the past get shut down. Alabama seems to have a much better offense this year and questions remain how well can the Ducks play defense.

Neutral field, I would take Oregon. I think defense is improved, and Bama gave up 42 to A&M. Oregon would put up at least 50, and while I think Bama's offense is better than years past, I don't think they put up 50 on the improved Ducks defense. The Oregon team that lost by a field goal to Auburn in 2010 wasn't near as good as this version of the Ducks.

Bama. They have played two quality games (remember Va Tech was in the Sugar Bowl last year). A&M runs pretty much the exact same offense as Oregon with the exception of the fancy motions and Manziel is a better QB than Mariota.

Alabama. A&M was the 6th ranked team (Cotton Bowl winner) and VT Tech (sugar bowl winner) s consistently a top 15-20 team every year. Oregon plays in a weaker conference, the SEC is the toughest conference. The teams Oregon beat is by no means impressive. I don't even think Oregon should be #2, Ohio State should be.
