Help with the organization of my family tree?

Hello,

I've come to the point where two different branches of my family tree should be linked to be the same.

I think it does not make a lot of sense but I'll explain in more details below and would like to know what you would do or have done as a more expert genealogist using softwares.

Here is the picture of the tree where I have encountered my problem. It is the My Heritage software.

http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/4194/tk1u.jpg

So, Nicolas Chevillon married Catherine Peuriot. But Nicolas' grandfather Pierre had a sister Pierrette ( you can't see him with the picture ) who married a man named Francçois Miallet who happened to be Catherine Peuriot's maternal grand parents. So as you can see ( I hope I am clear enough in my explanation ) these two lines should also cross each other two generations before the union of Nicolas Chevillon and Catherine Peuriot, since they have the same great grandparents.

Unfortunately, this is one of the thing that the software can't take in consideration and I really do not how to organize myself now.

Should I make the line twice ? Or should I just put a note on Catherine Peuriot ( born Miallet ) that indicates to refer to the right place ?

Has anyone encountered the same issue ? With this software or an other ? I am a bit confused on what to do.

Thank you for your time and for reading me that far. Good day to you all ;)

Update:

EDIT : Thank you for answering and sorry that I have not been as clear as I would have liked.

The problem is that Nicolas and Catherine Chevillon, who are married, have the same great grandparents. So when I'll enter Catherine Chevillon's great grand parents, they will be the same than for Nicolas, and so I will have twice the same persons and since the software do not understand that, it is going to be a bit messy.

I hope my problem is more understandable now. If it really is not, then don't worry about it. Thank you for answering Wendy ;)

No understanding of what the issue is.

If a person marries another person...you enter that event. It links them. Those persons should also be linking to their own parents (and siblings). Assuming the other entries are in there already, it will reflect factual lines. You don't need to "make" a line.

It is going to show the ancestry of each person. It isn't making a "cross" since both are distinct people.

But, I DO UNDERSTAND. And, genealogy software also handles this. You DON'T "enter" the gr grandparents. You enter the person(s) one time. You don't do multiple entry. In other words, enter Nicolas first.. with his parents, then the parents of his parents, so forth. You have those IN THE SYSTEM. Next, you enter his wife as a person, who you link to her husband. You enter her parents, then theirs. At the point where you reach the gr grandparents.. they are ALREADY ENTERED as part of his tree. You simply LINK the grandparents to persons who already are in the program. No re entry needed for "new" persons.

When you do print of ancestry of the children of Nicolas and Catherine, it displays her ancestry including the gr grandparents. It displays his, with his. They happen to be the same persons.

This is not uncommon at all. Your issue is thinking that they need to be entered more than once..which is not correct. Once they are entered, you LINK the child to the parent, using "person already in the file" or however it is worded. Yes..the software does get it, since it is not unheard of, in the least.
