How to fix minolta xg9 shutter?

I added new batteries to my minolta xg9 and it snapped once and was working fine. I advanced the film and it worked once and then everything stopped working. I have tried reloading film and now I neither the shutter nor the film advance work. What should I do?

    See a professional for help and probably repair.

    Try another set of batteries. Even some "new" batteries are defective.
