What are some good websites to find some good deals on cruises? Also, what do you think I'll be looking at as for as costs for a 7 day cruise for 2 and I am located in Portland, OR

Any travel site has links for cruises, and depending on where you want to go, they are all over the board. If you go to Seattle, you can cruise to Alaska from May-Sept. or you could go south along the CA coast. Or, you could fly to any port wherever you want, but that will add $1000 to the cost of your trip for 2 ppl.

I've always booked my own through either expedia or direct with the line, but last cruise, I met a lot of people who got a much better deal than I using a TA, so I booked my next cruise through one.

Check cruisecritic in addition to vacationstogo. I just saw a deal on a 7 day Celebrity (my favorite line) out of New Jersey for $450 (window cabin). It goes to St Croix and a couple other newarby islands. If I didn't already have one booked for Nov, I'd be on it.

I have used vacationstogo before and they were pretty good with good prices. BUT if you have never cruised before I highly suggest you go to a travel agency that specializes in cruising. In fact after 14 cruises I still use a travel agent. Why, because I get better deals using a TA then I do with any online web site. Also if your new to cruising a regular TA can be of the upmost help in all details when it comes to cruising.

If you've never cruised before, I wouldn't recommend any website, but rather a flesh-and-blood travel agent in your town who is familiar with cruising. Before you go to him/her, make sure you do some reading and research on the many, many variables involved in cruising, because he/she will have lots of questions which you'll want to be able to answer intelligently. Your library has books on cruising and there are many on-line sources for info, e.g. CruiseCritic.com.

I've used Crucon.com, Expedia and Travelocity to book cruises. Have been really pleased with Crucon. There isn't going to be any difference in price, whichever agency you use. What will be different will be the "perks" the different agencies offer you, e.g. OBC's, etc.

For an inside cabin on the typical mass-market line, you can expect to pay about $100 per passenger per day. This will not include fees/taxes, gratuities, drinks [sodas/alcohol], excursions, etc.
