Anybody have experience with German Sports Gun, especially the .22LR pistols?

Heard they have/had reliability issues but good accuracy. Also would $275 be a good price for a used one in really nice condition. Have a 9mm & a .357 just want something to go to the range with the wife with.

I own the Sig version which is the exact same gun. It's a fun little gun. I do have a FTF upon occasion with it but I think it's more of an ammo problem than a gun issue. I like the fact that's it's the same size and near identical weight as my full size 1911's. The only thing I don't care for is the cheap plastic sights. The early models had a problem with the plastic guide rods breaking but I believe they have fixed that. I bought a new guide rod for mine just in case. http://www.cwaccessories.com/Products.html The 275 price isn't too bad especially if it comes with a spare magazine. They are about 350 at Academy Sports with 1 mag.

I own the GSG .22 StG-44 rifle. While not a pistol, it is very well made and a blast to shoot. I would recommend other GSG guns based on the quality of this one. The only "issue" with the StG is that it requires fairly hot ammo which can be hard to find. To be fair, the instruction book that comes with the gun specifies this. It isn't a defect just what the weapon needs to cycle and load properly. Once I got used to the sights, it is very accurate.

I had a GSG 1911 copy for a while. I wish I still had it. It was very accurate and reliable even with standard velocity ammo. It did a great job of replicating the 1911 for practice. Mine was $300 used, so $275 seems like a good deal to me.
