No, i think wars are ended by governments and society because people would complain after several years ,because they'r out of money , because they try to stop when they know they are losing, or because one of them (the factions) has reached a certain goal.

Wars aren't really started by the church itself, but a discussion about religion can get people to fight eachother.

A long time ago, the church did go on crusades, back then the war ended when they had conquered the objective city.

    Source(s): Good question !

Wars aren't started by religions. They're started by the absence of religion. Put the most knowledgeable religious scholars of every major religion in the same room together, and they'll get along just fine, so long as they all actually follow their religion.

Religion isn't the problem. It's those who corrupt their religion who are the problem. REVEREND Dr. Martin Luther King jr. was a Christian. Pastor Terry Jones claims to be one as well.

There needs to be a standard we look at when we decide whether someone truly follows their religion.

ALSO, was world war 1 started by religion or by nationalism? WW2 by fascism or religion? Cold war by communism or religion?

some wars are started by religion

those wars will end, for one reason or another - it doesnt always follow that the same thing ends a war, as starts it.

whether religion 'wins' a war, depends on if it was 'religion Vs religion', or 'religion Vs culture', or 'religion Vs country' etc

Wars are started by people, because of greed and lust for power and control, often using religion as the excuse. They are ended when the cannon fodder or weapons run out.

I suppose wars are sometimes started based on religious differences.

I guess religious ideals of peace could end wars, but I do not recall it ever happening.

    Wars are created by people.

People created religion so it's people either way.

Well if a war is fought between two opposing religions then yes, obviously.

    ummm...

Let's take WWII as an example. On the one hand you had Hitler's "positive Christianity" and State Shinto initiating the belligerence, and on the other hand you had Soviets and FDR's boys ending the war. So in that case no.

Ah, no, the Atheists have brought in world peace.

Their belief in nothing makes everyone happy.

Of course there is not a shred of evidence for war anymore.

Wars arent started by religions. They are started by religious people. "People". Many use religion as a reason to start the war. The problem lies in human greed, ego and selfishness.
