If the “war on poverty” continues for decades with no improvement, is throwing more money at the problem still the solution?

    For some people, throwing money IS the solution.

    There is no war on poverty, churches do more to help poor people than the government does. If anything the government has increased poverty by raising taxes and creating a wider gap between the richest Americans and everyone else. But a lot of that was the banks doing as well. But this war on poverty you speak of is a political illusion, used by democrats to seem more compassionate and used by conservatives to accuse the government of wasteful spending. In fact very little if any federal money is put towards poverty in this country.

    The media is about 50 years behind the curve if that's true. Frankly, that's why I listen to AM radio.

    Are you aware that our war on poverty has virtually eliminated elderly homelessness and AMERICANS DON'T STARVE, Ever?

    That's not just a success, it's a freaking miracle.
