I need to set it up so that it automatically calculates the sum of two numbers on the same line.
I've seen it done before. I've been looking online and there are tons of tutorials but nothing showing how to auto-calculate the sum of 2 numbers on the same line

There are several ways to do this. One way is to use the Formula Builder with the SUM worksheet functions. See the source for instructions.
