Dinosaurs are not the only distinct species. God did not get bored of them. After the fall even the ground was cursed.

You are right. God does not make mistakes. He gives life and He can take it away.

God created the Earth for people. The purpose of creating dinosaurs was to prepare the earth for human habitation. When the dinosaurs had fulfilled their purpose, God ended their life. But the Bible is silent on how he did that or when. We can be sure that dinosaurs were created by Jehovah for a purpose, even if we do not fully understand that purpose at this time. They were no mistake, no product of evolution. That they suddenly appear in the fossil record unconnected to any fossil ancestors, and also disappear without leaving connecting fossil links, is evidence against the view that such animals gradually evolved over millions of years of time. Thus, the fossil record does not support the evolution theory. Instead, it harmonizes with the Bible’s view of creative acts of God.

The Bible doesn't give us an answer about dinosaurs. But, the Bible was never intended to be either a history book or a science book. The creation account is Genesis answers the question of why there is a world and a universe but does not go into the moment-moment of creation. That's not the point. For another perspective, the creation account is about 2 pages or so in an English translation of the Bible. The other 1000+ pages pertain to God's relationship with people.

Perhaps that this is a question that one can lift up to the Lord while spending time in prayer and devotion with Him.

    Peace be with you.

    “Dinosaurs Ate Grass”

“It’s a big surprise for scientists” to discover that “dinosaurs ate grass,” says an Associated Press report. The discovery was made when fossilized sauropod dung found in India was analyzed. Why the surprise? It was thought that “grasses didn’t emerge until long after the dinosaurs died off,” explains the report. It was also believed that sauropods “didn’t have the special kind of teeth needed to grind up abrasive blades.” Paleobotanist Caroline Stromberg, leader of the team that made the discovery, says: “Most people would not have fathomed that [sauropods] would eat grasses.”

This is taken from Sept 2006 Awake! magazine, published by Jehovah's Witnesses

(Genesis 1:20-24) And God went on to say: “Let the waters swarm forth a swarm of living souls and let flying creatures fly over the earth upon the face of the expanse of the heavens.” 21 And God proceeded to create the great sea monsters and every living soul that moves about, which the waters swarmed forth according to their kinds, and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God got to see that [it was] good. 22 With that God blessed them, saying: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters in the sea basins, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth.” 23 And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a fifth day. 24 And God went on to say: “Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind.” And it came to be so.

So, before man was created, the earth full of vegetation that the dinosaurs would have consumed. God did not get "bored", but they served their purpose.

Dinosaurs existed because they were the only creatures with a long enough gut to process the type of vegetation that covered the earth at that time.

When the vegetation changed, having that much mass was a liability.

The answer you'll get is that it was human's fault. That it was because humans sinned that the flood happened and wiped them out, and that god wouldn't have wanted to have to do it.

This is, of course, because they believe dinosaurs and humans walked the Earth at the same time.

God problably knew dinosaurs were going to be too dangerous and most of them were going to be too big to fit inside the Noah's Ark. So, God decided to wipe them out and made it easier for Noah and his family.
