What is the minimum number of points need to graph a linear equation?
Is it just 1 because you can do like y = 4?

why is it beneficial to use more than one point is the 2nd part of the question?

You only need one point and the slope in order graph a linear equation. From this information you can utilize point-slope formula (Y-y1=m(X-x1)) to get that equation.
