What are some quality coupes for under 11K?

I'm looking for used cars, and I would like to find a coupe under 11K, and preferably more than an estimated 20 mpg. What would be some good choices to consider?

Update:

Country really doesn't matter to me. I think I should stay away from an Japanese cars though, just because I still live with my parents yet and my dad complains about "Japanese cars ruining the economy" 24/7 or something along those lines. I'd never hear the end of it if I got something Japenese.

It's sad really, he even yelled "Buy American!" When we passed a Honda dealer once.

Update 2:

I'm looking for my first car, so i'm not too picky about a lot right now. I would just like a cheaper used coupe with decent gas mileage.

Update 3:

@Art: He actually calls out Hyundai as Japanese, so I think that fact is above him.

European cars might actually be ok. He's just racist against the Japanese. It's never about BMW or Audi, my mom even had a Jaguar and he liked it. It's just the Asian companies he complains about.

lincoln mark viii. has a cobra motor 0-60 time in 6.6 seconds 1/4 mile time in high 14's. you can get one with under 100k for under $5,000. gas mileage a little higher than 20.

? Almost every kind of coupe can be gotten under 11k used, except maybe a classic Jaguar or Ferrari.

More specifics? And also what country?

Yeahh.... maybe you should have stated "American" instead of "quality" in your original question.

Among American cars, in my opinion, it will not matter much. All American cars are of more-or-less similar quality. Many of the smaller ones are actually made outside America, though, so make sure you look under the hood for labels with funny writing on them.

German or Italian cars are very costly to buy and to own.

British or French made car are typically of poor quality and expensive to repair.

How does your dad feel about Korean made cars? Hyundai and Kia have been doing well lately.

Most (if not all) coupes under 11k will do 20+ MPG as long as you don't have a consistent lead foot with it.................

If you feel forced to look American, I would look at the newest Ford Focus coupe I could find. Probably a 2010 Focus SE coupe.

idk man I had an Acura rsx 2003. I bought it for 8,000. Just crashed it into a tree last saturday and it's totaled as fu c k so I had it for a and lost all my money.

What do I have to say about it?

It was reliable...never had any issues.

Okay gas mileage, definitely the 20 mpg so there is that.

what I didn't like was that it didn't have pick up. that is my only complaint.

Not my car but a picture of the "car": http://raleigh.ohsohandy.com/a/106322-2003-acura-r...

Yep, buy an old american car and when s*** goes down, tell your dad to fix it. It's your car, and YOU will be the one driving it, so I would think twice about what kind of car you would choose. So what he gives you s*** about it, he ain't going to be driving it.

    Nissan Altima

    Honda Accord

    Chevrolet Cobalt
