What exactly does delivered Teslas mean?

The big news for Tesla this week is that they produced and delivered 185,000 Tesla EVs in the first quarter of 2021.  But no one bothered to explain delivered.  Does it mean sitting in a big lots outside factories?  Sent to Tesla dealers?  Or sold and put in the hands of new owners?  Thank you for your reply.

    DELIVERED TO CUSTOMERS, OR "NEW OWNERS" AS YOU INCORRECTLY CALLED THEM BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T ANY OLD OWNERS OF THEM.

    It means 185,000 cars were handed over to customers.

    Tesla no longer have have dealers as you would see say with a Ford dealer.

    You order it and its made  then sent to you.  

    Therefore if they made 185,000 vehicles then that say 185,000 vehicles were delivered to new owners and maybe a few are on their way.  Tesla has no desire to have big holding yards to store thousands of unsold vehicles.
