How do i stop wasps devouring my grapes?

I bought a house here that came with 22 trellis vines. Some of the grapes are the eating variety and others are for making alcohol. I am a true city boy, but have managed to maintain the garden in good condition. The first year we had a wonderful crop of grapes, but for the last two years a lot of the grapes have been eaten by wasps. Does anyone know of anyway to prevent this happening?

Update:

Ok, i was asked if i tried wasp traps. I never heard of them, and would like to be enlightened. I live in Bulgaria, and i doubt if any are available here. I did try and hang bottles , 500/330ml ones with sweet heavy syrup inside. It did manage to kill some, but there are so many wasps and very aggressive at that. I did destroy one wasp's nest i found in the garden.

The GoodFruit link contains great information on building a wasp trap, and discusses how to bait the trap with something more enticing than the fermenting grapes. The science of wasp pheromones and kairomones ecology is discussed as a way the battle the fruit destructive wasps, with meat and fish being used as the Spring bait and the use of sweet sugary bait in the late Summer, early Fall.

Another method used by growers is to wrap each of the hanging grape clusters inside fine mesh bags, or to use newspaper as an open bottom wrap for each of the hanging grape clusters. Either method will provide longer lasting protection against birds and insects, but will also require large amounts of time accomplish.

Wasp traps will catch a few but the grapes will be more attractive than the trap. In my experience the only way to stop them is to cover them with some sort of fine net. This can be in a maxi way covering the whole plants or by making up bags of muslin (I used net-curtain material) and protecting the grapes that way. They worked 100% perfectly. The downside is that it takes some time to put them in place. It also protected them from birds and rats (yes, rats in Spain love grapes).

When the wasp took over our sweet cherry trees. We sprayed the trees with a mist of water, this helped a lot, we did this every morning.

I have my three dogs crate trained, and I didn't have any real issues with it. Learn here http://onlinedogtraining.enle.info/?Oz03

I didn't get them as very young puppies, and that makes a difference. young puppies are like young babies. They don't cry to manipulate, they cry to have their needs fulfilled. They need to potty every 2 to 3 hours at this young age, and crating them for long periods of time causes them physical discomfort. They don't like to potty where they sleep, so it creates the need for the dog to get out of the crate, or soil it, which will make him more reluctant to use it.

Make the crate a place where good things happen. My dogs get a small treat every time I crate them before I leave. They also get fed in their crates (I feed a raw diet, so it's less messy if they eat in their crates). They dive into their crates in anticipation of food. I also leave the crate doors open all the time so they can sleep in their even when I'm home if they choose. If you have a smaller sized crate, keep it close to your computer, or other busy areas of the house so the dog has an option to go there and rest when you are home. toys such as Kong's are great for the crate because you can stuff them and give the dog something to occupy him. I used to stuff mine with a mixture of peanut butter and frozen mixed veggies, then I'd freeze it before giving it to the dog. You could very easily do this when you are sitting at the computer, give him the Kong in the crate. Shut the door and let him enjoy it while you surf the web. (he may have to potty after he finishes it, so make sure you take him outside when he's done). I'd also remove the kong and take him out of the crate before he asks to come out.

If you keep it positive, don't make a fuss when you come home, or when you leave, and have patience, the crate can be a wonderful tool!

wasps burrow inside bark of plant to lay their eggs, in late autumn, vines and fruit trees need coal tar/jeyes fluid spray in winter when tree is dormant, trying to spray now is futile, bottle traps will only kill few you missed with winter sprays
