What is the a good ice breaker/ conversation starter to use a girl?

There's this Gil in my intro to stats class and she is really quiet doesn't talk just looks at videos on her ipod and laughs to herself... Anyways the room is a lecture auditorium there are like 9 rows from and on the row where I sit she is like two seats to my right no one else sits in this row and to be honest I sat more in the back but then I saw she was all alone so I moved upfront hoping to get a chance to talk to her... Any suggestions?

Well, work on what you have there Jeffrey. You have a shared interest in the class you are taking - so after the lecture you can just make a comment about it?

And if she likes to watch videos and laughs to herself then Id say thats an opening to ask her what she is watching.

After you get response to either of these tactics you go on to ask her if shed like a coffee/go to a film/

Good luck - confidence is very attractive to the opposite sex, confidence, not arrogance.

Hey what's up? Introduce your self. Start off slowly, don't approach her to fast because then she might get creeped out by you. Wave at her when ever you see her, if you want to talk to her & start a convo ask what classes she has, who she hangs out with past school she has been to, if she knows the people you do but don't make it seem like your giving her a interview either. Simple questions, & soon maybe ask her if she wants to hang out with her or if you catch her alone walk with her. Start off small though, remember.
