Because people get their information from Faux News and other unreliable sources, and do not have the inclination to do their own research, yet when they find out they have made an uninformed decision, complain.

We are an apathetic culture. No on has an interest to learn more. Even with all this technology we have, we don't use it to educate ourselves.
