250 gallon fish tank?

Goldfish need 20 gallons of water each. So with a 250 gallon tank I would say 12 goldfish maximum. 10 would be better because less waste produced so less frequent cleanings are needed.

You could have 10 Fantails easily in a 250 gallon Tank do you have a lot of filtration ?

5 Goldfish only fancy goldfish.

Many people don't know the importance of keeping these fish happy and healthy. A fancy can be huge (8-9inches or more). They do need a lot of space and filtration.

There is nothing wrong with keeping goldfish I love them Miles.

I have only 2 in my 55g and I would not put anymore. Do not overcrowd your tank. Be smart and stock accordingly.

Plug in your info like tank size filtration and check out some fish you would like to have. It will tell you when you are overstocked. :) I am glad you asked before you got like 10 of them.

As long as they're similar in size, it should be fine. Remember double to triple filtration at all times. With that said, the typical rule is 20-40 gallons for one, with 10-20 for each after that ( bigger is better ), so you could fit anywhere between 24 and 11 in there.

*Please note, the 24 mentioned would be the SMALLEST species of fancies, with triple filtration and frequent water changes. But honestly, it would be a risk.

Aww what a waste for such a big tank! i would personally put in at most 12 more what you should do with a 250 gallon tank is buy 10 silver dollars that would be amazing to watch!!
