    General Equation of a Line is

    y = mx + c................This is equation 1

    m is slope

    to find m

    m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

    m = (3-(-4)) / (5-(-12))

    m = 7/17

    now plug in m and one of the two points back into Equation 1

    3 = 5(7/17) + c

    multiply equation by 17 and solve for c

    51 = 35 + 17c

    17c=16

    c = 16/17

    your final equation for this line is

    y = (7/17)x + 16/17

    M= Y2 - Y1/ X2 - X1

    M= 3 - (-4) / 5 - (-12) = 7/17X Your slope is 7/17

    Y=7/17x+B

    Now, you have to find B!

    You find B by using Y=Mx+B equation and inserting the slope and one of the points.

    I am going to show you using the point (5,3)

    Y=7/17x + B

    3 = 7/17(5) + B

    3 = 2.05 + B

    - 2.05

    1.05 = B

    Your equation would be Y= 7/17x + 1.05!

    The equation of the straight line joining (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is given by (y-y1)/(y1-y2) = (x-x1).(x1-x2).

    => (y+4)/(-4-3) = (x+12)/(-12-5)

    => (y+4)/-7 = (x+12)/-17

    => -17(y+4) = -7(x+12)

    => 7x-17y =-16.
